“OMV Gas” transformed into “GAS CONNECT AUSTRIA” – a complete new brand, new logo, new claim, new values. Therefor an event took place to introduce and present the new brand to employees and company partners.
MOTIONLAB was assigned to develop the projection design and visual drama for this unique moment. Large-screen slide and panorama video projections on 3 floors, all in all 500 square meters of light, color and geometry escaped the audience into the new world of GAS CONNECT AUSTRIA…

ATMEN Filmpremiere AfterpartySeptember 14, 2011
One of the most famous Austrian actors, Karl Markovics gives his debut as a Direktor. His first film “ATMEN” tells the story of the 19-year-old Roman Kogler, who has a chance to be released early from his young offenders’ institution. As a day-release prisoner he has a job at a funeral home. Of all things, it is this job dealing with death that shows him the path back to life.
MOTIONLAB is assigned to do a slide installation, which deals with the topic in an abstract way and creates an unique atmosphere at the Afterparty.

MOTIONLAB goes to Traunstein (GER) from 20.-24.07. to participate in a workshop about measuring a building (in the real world) and creating it afterwards in 3D software using a theodolite. New versions of Theodolite are already shipping with a PDA and the appropriate software to control in real-time what point you are currently measuring.
This technology is very useful for mapping projects on architecture because of the precise data measurements, comfortable workflow and the easy handling of the tool.

“VISUALS MADE IN AUSTRIA”April 15, 2010
“Visuals made in Austria. Projekteure, Indivisualisten, Spielfilmer” is a documentary movie by Olivia Macho (AUT, 2009).
This documentary describes an effort to represent Visualists from Austria. The working area in the field of projections, mulitscreens and installations goes from the public space to theaters, classical music venus, opera etc. Current positions, formations and historical developments of this art form will be demonstrated in this unique documentary. How Visualism is defined, what is a VJ or a Visualist? And what are the differences between these positions? Which traditions, influences and pioneers can be found? Which parameters are suitable? Which kind of context seems to be the best? All these questions are going to be answered and discussed with the insiders. 27 artists, filmmaker, journalists, scientists and theorizers talk about their visual experiences. This documentary should be the initiator for further discussions.
Among many others, Gerry Miller from MOTIONLAB was interviewed to spread his point of view.

For the first time, we tried to create a three dimensional media sculpture and project onto it using mapping projection technology. The result of this experiment can be seen from 27th of March to 18th of April, Monday to Sunday from 18:00 – 21:00 at the Soundframe festival headquarters, located at: Liniengasse 15, Vienna.
At the same time and teaming up with Atelier Alexa, we explored the potential of Tensor in the field of jewelery. Using Rapid prototyping technology, we produced some unique pieces which will also be presented at the festival.
